Henkel to Collaborate with HP on 3D Printing Materials

Rocky Hill, CT-basedHenkel Adhesive Technologieswill collaborate with HP to develop 3D printing solutions for HPs Multi Jet Fusion system under the HP Open Materials and Applications Platform, Henkel announced Tuesday via press release.

With our broad material portfolio and customer base across diverse industries, Henkel is able to champion custom 3D solutions through various functional applications. This, combined with HPs vision for open materials innovation, enables us to develop materials and applications once thought impossible, Michael Todd, corporate vice president and global head of innovation and new business development at Henkel Adhesive Technologies, said in a statement

Henkel said its broad portfolio of adhesive technologies, including engineered thermal and light cure acrylic, silicone, epoxy, and polyurethane adhesives, sealants, and coatings used in applications like vehicles, electronic devices, and medical components and its capabilities in polyamide synthesis and formulation position the company to develop materials for HPs additive manufacturing platform.

In addition, Henkels in-depth understanding of manufacturing process integration will help accelerate the transition of additive manufacturing to production settings. And with an extensive geographic footprint and sales channel, Henkel will facilitate the implementation of additive manufacturing on a scope that rivals that of traditional industrial production, Henkels release said.

The companies will produce customized, industry-specific materials for users of HPs platform.
